1) Conflict: Afghan conflict, US carried out its first air strike in response to the Taliban. Progress: Switzerland voted in favour of LGBTQ+ protection bill shows progress because it shows that the community is becoming widely accepted across the globe. Disaster: The coronavirus! A current global issue which has lead to many deaths. Consequence: London knife crime has increased fear among society. Prominence: Phillip Scofield coming out as gay has caused a lot of controversy. Blog task: binary oppositions and ideology

1) One example of binary opposition I can suggest from watching this clip is  immigrants vs British people .  This is clearly illustrated as Nigel argues the point about  overcrowding  as a result of immigration and the general quality of life has gone down. Another binary opposition suggested from this clip is   rich vs poor . This is seen when Nigel makes the point about the upper classes being at a  disadvantage  because of overcrowding, but Russell makes the point about how money is not being distributed in an equal way and that the poor are also at a disadvantage because of this. Furthermore, another binary opposition in this clip is   immigration vs corruption . Introduction to feminism:Case study- Everyday Sexism

1) Laura Bates started the Everyday Sexism project because she realised that it was a  recurring  issue in her and almost every other women's life. Until speaking out about her experiences with others about the  sexual harassment  she gets, Laura thought it was normal due to everyone shutting her down and saying that women are equal now. However, she researched and found information that contrasts with the statement of 'women being equal' and decided to make website which enables people, men and women, from around the world to share their experiences. 2) The project links to the concept of  post-feminism  because it  unveils  the different forms of  sexual harassment  women get on a daily basis and how they experience this during a normal days  routine,  e.g. at their workplace or on their way home. In  Western societies  things are still  developing  and they still live in  patriarchy. ...
